Donald Trump Breaks Silence On Hunter Biden’s Guilty Verdict

Hunter Biden, 50, was found guilty on Tuesday, June 11, on all three charges in relation to his gun trial case, where he was accused of lying on federal paperwork, claiming he was not using drugs at the time of purchase.

In 2018, after filling out the paperwork and running a background check, the 54-year-old was able to purchase the gun and several other items, including ammunition and a speed loader. According to a receipt, he paid $886.81 in cash.

While he said he was not using or addicted to drugs at the time of purchase, many witnesses testified, claiming he was using cocaine in the months prior. Plus, an FBI agent testified that he had texted about smoking crack just days earlier.

After hearing the witness testimonies and seeing the text messages and other video footage, the jury returned with a verdict, finding him guilty on all three counts.

Former President Donald Trump is the latest to comment on Hunter Biden’s guilty verdict in his gun trial case.

Shortly after the jury read Hunter Biden’s guilty verdict, the Trump campaign released a statement.

“This trial has been nothing more than a distraction from the real crimes of the Biden Crime Family, which has raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia and Ukraine,” it read, per CNN. “Crooked Joe Biden’s reign over the Biden Family Criminal Empire is all coming to an end on November 5th, and never again will a Biden sell government access for personal profit.”

“As for Hunter, we wish him well in his recovery and legal affairs,” the statement concluded.

Hunter Biden To Appeal

Reports claim that Hunter Biden will appeal the verdict, although it might be difficult due to financial difficulties from civil lawsuits.

“I would expect that there will be a series of appeals but there are questions about just how many resources he has remaining to fund his legal defense. He is right now not working. His longtime friend and attorney Kevin Morris has been paying most of his legal bills,” CNN chief legal affairs correspondent Paula Reid said.

Last week, while Hunter Biden was on trial, his father released a statement claiming, “As the President, I don’t and won’t comment on pending federal cases.”

“But as a Dad, I have boundless love for my son, confidence in him, and respect for his strength,” he added, per NBC. “Our family has been through a lot together, and Jill and I are going to continue to be there for Hunter and our family with our love and support.”

The President of the United States was not in the courtroom when the guilty verdict was read, but he did release a statement shortly thereafter.

“As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today,” he said on Tuesday, per CNN. “So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery.”

Joe Biden added that he “will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal.”

“Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that,” he added.

CNN reports that Morris and Hunter’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, “have been pursuing an aggressive, forward-leaning strategy with Hunter Biden’s legal defense, but the president’s son may be facing ballooning legal costs.”

“It’s not just these criminal trials that he’s facing. He and his lawyers are pursuing this very aggressive litigious campaign against his detractors. They have a lot of civil lawsuits that are costing them money,” Reid said.

Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison as two counts carry a maximum sentence of 10 years, and one carries a maximum sentence of 5 years. However, it is unlikely that he will receive the maximum sentence because he is a first-time offender and does not have a criminal record.
